The first 5 known vins were produced during a run of 260 units. 2 found in the next 1755 G-bodys built. After this there is a run of 37,683 G-bodys until the next known 2+2 Aerocoupes are produced during a 4769 unit run. Rumor has it, Pontiac built just enough for the competitors to use in time for the Daytona 500 and enough to parade a few of them thru several dealers in the south to appear to have completed the number of units for homologation, then, later, the remaining numbers required were produced. Gary Kokots, Georgia. His late mother bought this car new at Pitts Pontiac in Dublin Ga in late 86 or early 87. She also had a second 2+2 that was sold in 2001 ish. Fresh restoration and in final assembly, with an LS swap, stock 200r4 tranny and a Buick Grand National 8.5 axle. He was told it was a prototype because of the plug where the 3rd brake light would've been in a normal 86 GP.
